Claude setup
PromptMail works with ChatGPT or Claude. This page is for Claude—add a custom connector using the MCP URL below. ChatGPT setup →
How connectors work: interactive connectors, remote MCP, MCP Apps.
What you’ll need
- A Gmail account accepted for the beta —sign in to PromptMail in a browser and complete Google OAuth so we can send mail on your behalf.
- A Claude account that supports custom remote MCP connectors (see Anthropic’s remote MCP guide for plan limits).
- Team or Enterprise? An organization owner may need to add the custom connector under Organization settings → Connectors before members can connect individually.
1) Connect your Gmail account to PromptMail
In a browser, sign in to PromptMail and connect Gmail so we store the tokens used when ChatGPT or Claude runs tools.
2) Add PromptMail as a custom connector
In Claude, open Settings → Connectors. Under Connectors, choose Add custom connector (wording may match Anthropic’s current UI). Paste your remote MCP server URL:
MCP server URL
https://www.promptmail.to/mcp
Most people only need the URL above. Finish with Add (or equivalent).
3) Turn the connector on for a chat
Turn PromptMail on for the chat: use + → Connectors (wording may vary).
4) Authorize when Claude first uses PromptMail
The first time a tool runs, complete the sign-in and consent flow in the browser window Claude opens. Return to the conversation and retry if needed.
Interactive previews in Claude
In Claude, email drafts can show up as interactive cards—the same idea as in interactive connectors. Details for builders: MCP Apps.
Try it: example prompts
With the connector on, ask to send or read mail in plain language:
Send a message
Send an email to alex@example.com with subject "Project update" and a short body summarizing today’s decisions.
Read recent mail
Show me the latest email from billing@example.com in the last week.
